One Health Funds Projects

The CIHLMU aims to strengthen its partners and alumni and to stimulate their collaboration for One Health related research and activities. Therefore, partners and alumni were invited to apply for the CIHLMU One Health Funds Network Funds.

In July 2021 out of the 21 submitted proposals, five projects with focus on One Health topics were approved and initiaded:

  • Apolonia Rodríguez - Universidad Mayor, Real y Pontificia de San Francisco Xavier de Chuquisaca (USFX), Bolivia
    Project title: ECOH: Environment Care with a One Health approach

  • Ahmed Zeynudin Kasim - Jimma University (JU), Ethiopia
    Project title: The role of Khat (Catha edulis) in spreading antimicrobial-resistant Bacteria: A quantitative risk assessment from Farm to end-users using a one health approach, Jimma Ethiopia

  • Andreas A. Kudom - University of Cape Coast (UCC), Ghana
    Project title: Psycho Afro-mosquitoes: Investigating Psychographic determinAnts of students and entomological factors on the use of enetically modified mosquitoes for control in Africa

  • Eshetu Girma - School of Public Health, Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia
    Project title: Mobile Health Application for Young People’s Mental Health - Building Capacity by Implementing a Mobile Health Application for Young People’s Mental Health in Ethiopia and Somaliland

  • Mario Eduardo Castro Torres - Universidad Mayor, Real y Pontificia de San Francisco Xavier de Chuquisaca (USFX), Bolivia
    Project title: SBEES: Stingless BEEs as an ecological, Social capital and public health richness

In July 2020, six projects were approved and initiated. They focus on virtual teaching and training as well as research related to Covid-19.
