About OH-TARGET

Over the last 10 years, the CIHLMU has established a worldwide network for health research and education, with a focus on developing countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America.

After 10 years of experience in development cooperation in the field of medical education and research, the CIHLMU has won another major project within the program "Exceed - Higher Education Excellence in Development Cooperation" funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) for the project period of 5 years, from 2020 until the end of 2024.

The name of this project is OH-TARGET, which is an achronym that stands for One Health Training And Research Global NETwork.

The overriding goal of OH-TARGET is to improve health conditions worldwide by understanding the structural health problems caused by the living environment and by developing context-specific solutions in a holistic and participatory approach to development cooperation. For this purpose, the CIHLMU works together with veterinarians, social scientists and geoscientists, both from the LMU and from partner universities in nine countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
