The CIHLMU Symposium on Global Health Perspectives: Intergenerational Impact of Drought and Famine on Health Systems in Developing Countries will be held on Friday, 15 March 2024.

This collaborative and international event will serve as a platform for experts, researchers, practitioners, and policymakers from across the globe to convene and address the pressing issues surrounding the interplay of drought, famine, and health systems in developing countries.

The symposium will include keynote addresses, plenary sessions, presentations of research papers, and discussions among experts on subjects relating to drought and famine in developing countries. Its purpose is to enhance our understanding of the long-term effects of drought and famine on healthcare systems across generations. Additionally, the event will investigate creative approaches and actions to establish robust and enduring healthcare infrastructures. The symposium will specifically focus on the following key themes:

● Intergenerational impacts of drought and famine on health and health systems
● Innovative strategies and interventions for resilient healthcare infrastructures
● Ecological interventions and mitigation of health hazards
● Multi-disciplinary collaboration and interconnectedness of sectors in the context of One Health approach
● Exploring lessons from the past
