The "One Health Knowledge Café" is one of the chosen projects of the One Health Funds 2020. It is a collaborative effort of more than 11 individuals representing the partners and alumni of the Center for International Health ( CIHLMU ) from Asia, Africa, Europe, South America and North America. The project aims to enhance the academic network of CIHLMU experts, partners, alumni and students by organizing monthly virtual webinars, sharing sessions and offering an online course. The outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic has not only affected the health sector but all aspects of life. It has widespread impacts on agriculture, education, transport, tourism, economic activities, and employment and so on. COVID-19 pandemic has been observed as a serious challenge in accelerating efforts towards achieving the SDG’s (Sustainable Development Goals).
In this context, One Health Knowledge Café organized the webinar on “Impact of COVID-19 on Sustainable Development Goals” on March 4, 2021. Altogether there were three presentations followed by a Q&A session. The webinars brought together approximately 70 national and international experts, researchers, academician and local actors to interact and exchange knowledge on a wide range of topics, including the SDG’s and Human Development Report, Impact of COVID-19 pandemic on SDG’s and local governance issues, and Women, work, gender equality in the context of COVID-19 pandemic.
The webinar was successful in identifying the areas of opportunities and challenges to achieve the SDG’s in the context of COVID-19 pandemic in a ONE HEALTH perspective.
