It is very important for candidates to understand that CIHLMU is not procuring research projects or provide research funding. CIHLMU is an institution that provides the framework for doing research and offers in-depth knowledge and experience, based on a long history of research conducted within the Department of Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine and the other departments at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU). In two module blocks held in Munich, candidates will be provided with up-to-date and state of the art knowledge, taking advantage of the outstanding facilities available at LMU.
Applicants are expected to have their research project already at hand at the time of application, preferably in their countries of origin or residence, and to already be in contact with their future local supervisor. Thus, our program will be aimed primarily, but not exclusively, at candidates who are already involved in institutional research activity and who are willing to focus their research toward an academic degree, the Ph.D.
