7. Regulations

  1. The course fee(s) as indicated above apply. The CIH Program Coordination Office will contact you with further information regarding payment procedures. Registration is only complete following the payment of the course fee(s) in full. The following cancellation policy applies: A non-refundable fee of € 100 will be charged in cases of cancellation prior to the registration deadline. After this point of time, a non-refundable fee of 50% of the total course fee is due in case of cancellation two weeks prior to the course start. The full fee will be charged in cases of no-show or cancellations from the beginning of the course.
  2. Attendance of the entire module is a pre-requisite for the award of ECTS credits. Course participants will need to arrive prior to the beginning of the course. A missed first day cannot be made up otherwise and will lead to exclusion from the module without the possibility of a course fee refund (no-show).
  3. All CIH Advanced Modules include mandatory pre-reading assignments. An assessment by a course instructor that reading material has not been read (e.g. instructions on basic laboratory safety) may lead to immediate exclusion from the module without the possibility of a course fee refund. Pre-reading assignments are delivered at least two weeks prior to the start of the module.
  4. Successful completion of assignments (multiple choice examinations, post-course assignments etc.) is a pre-requisite for the award of ECTS credits. Non-submissions (including post-course assignments that are handed in more than 2 weeks after the submission deadline), will be graded as fail without a re-sit option and participants are no longer eligible for ECTS credits.
  5. Accommodation is not provided and difficult housing conditions in Munich make early arrangements crucial. It is in the responsibility of each participant to arrange appropriate accommodation for the duration of the module.
  6. For the participation in academic courses an appropriate health and liability insurance is a requirement in Germany. This may also be a pre-requisite for visa applications. Participants are responsible for arranging adequate insurance cover.

8. Further Information

Please email the CIH Program Coordination Office in advance should you be unavailable for longer time periods from now until the start of your chosen module so that we are notified in case we need to contact you. Please note that the months from October to April are months of the fall and winter season in Germany with possibly very cold and rainy weather. Temperatures can drop below 0°C, so please bring appropriate clothing (firm shoes, cap/hat, gloves, scarf, jacket and sweater). If you do not have appropriate clothing, consider to buy clothes in Munich. You are required to carry a portable computer (laptop) during your studies, which is needed for readings and assignments. For your personal convenience, we highly recommend to have a sufficient amount of cash in Euro at hand when arriving in Munich (at least € 100).
