Development Related Post-Graduate Course Scholarship (EPOS)

The PhD Program Coordination has secured a scholarship line on Development Related Post-Graduate Course Scholarship (EPOS), funded by the DAAD. In order to be eligible, candidates have to fulfil certain criteria that may differ from minimum requirements for the PhD program itself. The most important differing criterion is a minimum of 2 years of work experience with relevance to the field of International Heath.

Important to note: Application for the scholarship does not equal application for the PhD program. Candidates still need to apply for the PhD program at the same time!

Value of an awarded scholarship:

  • Scholarship of €1300.- per month spent in Munich, Germany during Module Bloch I and II and during Defence Period;
  • Scholarship of ca. €500.- per month spent in the home and research country of candidates. The precise amount will be determined by DAAD;
  • Payment of mandatory contributions to the DAAD health insurance, only during the stays in Munich, Germany;
  • Coverage of long-distance travels, only between home country and Munich, Germany, and only for travels to and from Module Blocks I, II and Defence Period. Local transportation will not be covered;
  • Scholarship recipients have to be aware that there are additional mandatory payments to be made during the whole study period, to be paid by the candidate, such as LMU University administration fees or Munich local transportation passes;
